As we make our way to Washington, D.C. for the 2017 AMHCA Annual Conference, we could think of no better hallmark of mental health counseling to highlight than 'advocacy.' 

This year's conference theme is "Innovate and Advocate: Pathways to Clinical Excellence." As counselors, we work together to simultaneously advance our profession and expand our vision for what that profession means. We are thrilled to invite you to join us as we continue to shape the future of mental health counseling at our annual conference. On July 27-29 we will come together at The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. to further our profession and advocate for mental health counselors nationwide.

Sessions will tackle the key policy issues impacting the profession today and provide valuable pragmatic advice across the full range of services offered by mental health counselors in public and private practice, including assessment and diagnosis, psychotherapy, treatment planning and utilization review, brief and solution-focused therapy, alcoholism and substance abuse treatment, psychological educational and prevention programs, and crisis management.
